Tony Walker’s contemporary realist landscape and figurative painting ranges
across cultural divides and countries and through urban and
remote spaces, from parts of Europe, Oman, Rajasthan, the
Kimberley, Central Australia, to his home base – South East
Queensland.
Tony Walker has painted from childhood in his home
State of Queensland. Initially hee painted watercolours featuring varied landscapes from around
the Brisbane region and the coast to Carnarvon Ranges area in central
Queensland. His painting developed during school
years and his
early professional career in urban design and landscape
architecture in Australia and overseas.
He became an established artist in more recent years and
he now uses watercolour, acrylic and oil and with figurative
and landscape inspiration. He has received many
awards for his painting.
He
is an experienced tutor, having tutored
with his own private workshops, with the Watercolour society of Qld
and with Flying Arts Inc for art groups around regional
Queensland. Workshops are ongoing as shown on 'Contact' page
of this website.
His work is exhibited in various venues. He
has had one-person and joint exhibitions in Australia
and overseas. He is represented in various galleries
including in Brisbane, Breathing Colours Sydney, Al Madina Gallery (Muscat, Oman), Majlis Gallery (Dubai),
Lovell Gallery (Kununurra WA) and several art societies in
Australia.
